This is a unique artisan piece, carefully designed by Lorena Canals and sustainably handcrafted in our own factory using natural fibers and upcycled materials, non-toxic dyes, and a firm commitment to the planet and people. From the design process, to material sourcing and production, we always choose options that minimize waste and ensure long-lasting designs.
Our rugs stand for solidarity. Touched by seeing children whose future is determined by their family's economic circumstances, Lorena Canals decided to offer her own social support by giving them access to education. This is how the Sakûla Project was born, a nursery school in the north of India where street children can receive food and education. There are currently 120 children attending the school and counting.
If you own one of our signature home rugs, you know it is a one-of-a-kind piece. Because it is handcrafted by Indian artisans and not the result of mass production. Each Lorena Canals product is carefully handcrafted by our artisans in our own factory in India using ancestral craft techniques. All our wool rugs are made with RWS certified wool. Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) is a certification that addresses the welfare of sheep and the land on which they graze.
Washable: We are the creators of the washable rug concept. This rug is machine washable at home, keeping it flawless wash after wash. They're ideal for everyday use, for homes with children and pets, as they allow you to easily remove any stain just by putting them in the washing machine. Making life easier!
After the success of our washable cotton rugs, we wanted to go a step further and make our wool rugs washable too. Es normal que nuestras alfombras lavables suelten pelusa durante los primeros meses. Esto se debe a que las alfombras son realizadas de forma artesanal y el acabado se realiza cortando a mano, y al hacer esto quedan los restos de pelusa en la misma alfombra del algodón que fue cortado. Por lo tanto, si la alfombra suelta pelusa durante los primeros meses, la alfombra no está defectuosa.
Para poder reducir las pelusas, le podemos dar las siguientes recomendaciones:
- Aspirar con frecuencia y cepillar la alfombra en el sentido de la felpa, con una escoba de pelo duro.
- Antes de lavarla en la lavadora, aspirarla y/o cepillarla, según comentado antes.
- Luego de cepillar, lavar y secar la alfombra en secadora a baja temperatura para que la alfombra recupere su textura suave y se eliminen las pelusas.
No recomendamos el uso de los robots de limpieza sobre nuestras alfombras porque las aspas que le permiten libre movilidad sobre las superficies pueden engancharse de los hilos y dañar la alfombra.
