Baskets for Kids

How to Choose a Kids’ Storage Basket

Start by deciding what you need to store and where the basket will be placed. Small baskets work well for accessories and little treasures, while larger designs provide space for toys, blankets, cushions or dress-up clothes.

Check the dimensions on each product page before ordering. Some shaped baskets may appear larger in photographs because of their decorative lids, handles or raised details.

These measurements correspond to representative designs in the collection. Always use the dimensions of the selected product as the final reference.

Toy Storage Baskets for Kids’ Rooms and Playrooms

Place larger toy storage baskets directly on the floor where their contents can be reached easily. Use them for stuffed animals, building pieces, dress-up clothes or other frequently used toys.

Smaller baskets can be positioned on low shelves or furniture to organize accessories and compact items. Avoid overfilling them, as excessive weight may affect their handcrafted shape.

Designs inspired by animals, mushrooms, plants, food and space can coordinate with the room while providing practical storage. Lidded baskets help keep their contents contained, while open baskets make everyday items easier to see and retrieve.

Nursery Storage Baskets

In a nursery, use cotton storage baskets to keep blankets, muslins, clothes and other essentials organized. Choose a position that allows adults to reach the contents easily while keeping the floor clear.

Check the basket’s dimensions carefully if it will be placed on a shelf, changing table or inside a storage unit. Decorative details may extend beyond the main body of the basket.

Baskets are intended for storage unless the individual product page states that the design is also suitable for imaginative play. Always check the characteristics and intended use of the selected model.

Handcrafted Cotton Baskets

Lorena Canals baskets are handcrafted by artisans in the brand’s own factory in India. As a result, slight variations in color, size and appearance may occur between pieces.

Composition varies by design. Some baskets are made mainly from cotton, while others combine cotton cords with fibers or filling made from recycled PET bottles. Check the product details to confirm the exact composition of each basket.

How to Clean a Cotton Storage Basket

Lorena Canals baskets should not be washed in a washing machine, as washing may cause them to lose their original shape.

Follow these care instructions:

• Remove stains using lukewarm water and gentle soap.
• Do not soak or machine wash the basket.
• Avoid continuous exposure to direct sunlight.
• Allow any spot-cleaned area to dry completely.
• Cut loose or long threads carefully with scissors instead of pulling them.

Because each basket is handcrafted, handle shaped details, lids and decorative elements carefully when moving or cleaning it.

Frequently Asked Questions About Kids’ Storage Baskets

What size basket is best for storing toys?

Choose the size according to the type and quantity of toys. Mini baskets suit small objects, while wide or tall baskets provide more space for stuffed animals, textiles and larger toys. Check both the external dimensions and the available space in the room.

Can Lorena Canals baskets be machine washed?

No. Machine washing may affect the shape of a cotton basket. Remove stains locally with lukewarm water and gentle soap, following the care instructions on the product page.

Are all kids’ baskets also toys?

No. Most baskets are designed primarily for storage. Certain models include features intended for imaginative play, but this should be confirmed on the individual product page.

Why can handcrafted baskets vary slightly?

Each basket is made by hand rather than mass-produced. Small differences in color, size or appearance are a normal result of the artisanal process.
